From sheet metal to full-service HVAC
The company opened in 1977 as Palisades Sheet Metal, fabricating ductwork and custom metal for the Fox Valley trades. Heating and cooling grew naturally out of that: when you build the metal that moves the air, installing and servicing the equipment that pushes it is a short step. Nearly five decades later the name says Heating & Cooling, but the sheet metal roots still show in the work: odd plenums, tight transitions, and pre-war basements do not slow this crew down.
The crew
Day to day, Palisades is run by Ben, our general manager, who has spent more than 25 years in HVAC and still knows his way around an attic air handler better than most techs half his age. Around him is a crew of about a dozen: veteran service technicians, installers, and the apprentices we are training to keep this trade alive in the Valley. The founder who ran this company for four decades still keeps a hand in part-time, because some habits do not retire.
What we believe about this work
Nobody here earns commission for selling you equipment. Diagnosis comes with evidence you can see, quotes come with real numbers, and repair versus replace is your decision to make with honest math in front of you. That approach is slower than a sales script. It is also why the Valley voted us Best of the Valley for HVAC in 2026, and why so much of our work comes from the same families, decade after decade.
